What a great time in Barcelona !
Ok, the first day was a bit too eventful for me. Let's just say that it was a bad idea to take the subway with my wallet in my back pocket. Next time it will stay under my turban !
Once completly liberated of material worries, like money, Moritz Hirchenhain (Assistant Festival Director) took me to a restaurant where all the Bitfilm crew was waiting for us.

A very warm welcome, a long table with happy and passionated people. Of course, machinima and digital films were the main topic of the diner. But also music, since there was music lovers and also Plemo, a band from Germany, mixing techno rythms, traditional instruments and oldschool video games sounds.

But it was time to sleep because next day was THE day.

At 7 pm began the award ceremony, the suspens did not last to long
because Machinima was the second category on the screen.
The audience saw the 3 top rated movies of each category.

This was the biggest Olibith I've ever seen !!!

And yep !!!
I won the GEE Machinima Award !!!
So Thanks to all the people who supported "I'm Only Sleeping", going straight to my gnome heart, Thanks to Blizzard for this universe I can play my own way,

Results of the Festival

An intense moment and something to hang above my desk !

The trophy, the certificate and a 1500 Euros price !

I was not completly drunk yet, so I decided to start tasting the free beers and a kinda strange flashy green melon liquor that I'm hooked on since. We all moved to a party on an orange boat, the first DJ was singing and playing guitar, something like Sid Barret mixed with some Dead Can Dance. While some guys were spreading paint buckets on the audience, no joke. The second DJ was doing everything he could so people cannot dance, but he sure was having a great time. So we went into the chillout zone and had a great time too.

This was a splendid Festival, everybody was so happy to be here. The BitFilm crew is an amazing bunch of awsome people really devoted to their passion, really hope to see you again dudes !

And now i'm back in France, a bit tired but quite happy.
Oh the second price of the "Grand Prix Machinima 2007 du Festival du Jeux Vidéo" was delivered while I was in Spain. Lots of cool stuff, DVD's, gadgets, a Samsung SGH U600 phone (a splendid one, maybe a bit too fragile for a clumsy gnome),a USB memory key etc.

won the second place at the
"Grand Prix Machinima du Festival du jeu Vidéo 2007" in Paris last week end !

So, what did I won ?
Mr Samsung is giving me a cellular phone and Mr SciFi is giving me a bunch of DVDs.
And some other things I don't know about yet.
Maybe a Full HD TV and a PS3 with a beta of GTA4, who knows ?
Anyway I won't know untill friday night when I'll be back from the BitFilm Festival in BARCELONA !

The Baron sent me a very nice present today ! Like a box of Crayolas for movies !
So I've been editing a bit more than usually, excited by thoses new possibilities !



In the middle of the song, there's a bucolic moment telling a short story in a park on a sunny day. I knew exactly what I wanted to do but was not sure it would be possible. I'm glad it was and with thoses new filters it looks exactly like it needed to !

I received an email from the BitFilm festival telling me that "I'm only sleeping" is among the top three films so it is quite probable that it will win the competiton. So they would therefore like to invite me to come to Barcelona for the award show next Thursday !!!!
So I can't stop jumping around.
I've been waiting till I have my train tickets before spreading the news !

Last time in my life I did thoses kinda cards was useless since I did not give any.
But this time, I swear on Mekkatorque that I'm gonna get drunk and every single card is gonna end in somebody's pocket !! Hips.
Free drinks ? Open bar ? yep !!!! That's the best part of a german organisation, free beer ! It's not my imagination it's written down here !

I don't believe one second I can win this award, there's so many great movies selected, but the simple fact of being part of the top 3 is totally fabulous, going to Barcelone is absolutely great, I really like thoses buisness cards and getting drunk !

Right now I just hope I'll not mess with all the different trains I gotta take, that I'll find my way in Barcelona without having to call a german guy to explain him in english the name of the spanish place I'm lost in.

Decorating the shop

Yep that's the owner of the shop ! If you think you already saw him somewhere, that simply is impossible because this troll is not a gnome eater.
It was funny to search strange things in the viewer to decorate the shop, I will not show you what it looks like because you're not prepared.

Time is not on my side.

Irony, I thought I would have more time to edit while I'm not working and so many things are coming in my way. A couple of seconds each day is the best I can do, might be ready for Chrismas and I doubt it would be the right time to release. And other projects too are knocking at my door, feeling like in a rush and unable to move forward fast enough. I'll find the time !

But don't focus on this screenshot, there's still a chance for this video to be smart in a way or another. :D

Still editing very slowly, I'm still working on the intro of the song, 8 bass riffs with a different scene for each. Then when the lyrics begins, it will be a lot more fun to illustrate since I find them very funny. Stay tuned for more news soon !

What a nice surprise to see this morning another very kind news on Blizzard french homepage !!


It's about the Bitfilm festival and "I'm Only Sleeping" nomination, asking people to go there and vote. Very nice ! It's also talking about Betty Chanteboulon (aka Betty Tinewhizzle), a young and sexy gnome that is a real pop star here in France. She just made a second music video, too bad the lyrics aren't translated yet because they're really good.

There I start a new music video today, got plenty of time now and I had 22 days of vacation left so unemployement offices says I'm in vacation ! hehe.


So, yep, gonna be a comedy music video, made on a french song called "La ballade de l'obsédé" that can be translated "The ballad of the sex fiend". It's about a special way of life, and there's a chance it will be rated "P" for Pervert. The song is from Richard Gotainer that is a real genius.


This video is not gonna be easy at all, It may take some weeks. But I'm happy to work on this, I'll try to make it as funny and pery as I can.
